Getting Back to It

So it has been a little while since I was last on here because I have been ill and had to have my appendix out....I think this is a valid excuse don't you!? ;-)

Whilst I was home recovering I had a little chance to do some crafting to curb the boredom!
I started to make some Teachers Thank You cards after a suggestion from a facebook friend.
So here are a few of the cards that I made.

I think the giraff one is my favourite but Idid enjoy making the flower pot ones as they can be done in so many different colours and are a great way of me using up my stash of gorgeous patterened papers. I sold the brightly coloured flower pot cards straight away and have orders for others to :-). That cheered me up whilst stuck in on the sofa!

So now i'm back at work I am going to be back to normal updating as often as I can and I hope that I can try and get as many people as I can crafting.

The next available class is on the 3rd July at Boulders Climbing Centre from 7:30-9:30pm and costs just £10 per person. You will make 4 lovely projects that you then take home to show off. Please contact me to book your place sally@greedygirlsgoods.co.uk or 07966016776.

Tuesday's class

So I had a great time on Tuesday evening nudging some lovely ladies to get crafty and make some gorgeous cards! We made 3 cards which included a fathers day card and a matching gift tag.

After two trial classes I feel its time to take the plunge and get my classes out there and known to the world! So with that I am starting a weekly class at Boulders Climbing Centre on Wednesday evening from july. Keep in touch for further details and to sign up to get your craft on!

Think BIG start SMALL.

Think BIG, start SMALL is this weeks mantra! I take my hat off to anyone starting their own business as it is not an easy task at all. Where to start, what to do, who to speak to.........arrghhhh no wonder so many people have dreams they dont follow. Baby steps for me from now on, businesses dont just happen over night and I have to be patient (not a strong point of mine!).

Recent Cards

Here are a couple of recent cards that I have made. One new home card that matches there kitchen and James birthday card with a movie theme. This was to go with a few movie memorabilia presents I bought him. I also made him a notice board and will get pictures up of that soon.

Classes Start Next Week!

So after some more phone calls and organisation there have been a few changes to the current class timetable, mostly for the classes held in Radyr. Room availability means that I am now holding a 1 hour class during a Tuesday afternoon here. This is great for anyone who want a taster or are restricted with how much time they have available.

Please take a look at the changes on the Classes/Events page and be sure to book and secure your place for a class that you fancy. Also share with your friends/family/colleagues as you may be surprised who the crafty bug bites! Its a great way to get out and meet people in a fun and relaxed environment, and don't forget you get to show off your creative make and takes!

Back to Reality

So I am back home after a week in Greece with all of the family. We had a lovely time, even in the thunderstorms! There was plenty of laughs and gorgeous food to distract us from the few days of rubbish weather. After a late night drive home from Birmingham to say I am tired is an understatement, I am likely to be in bed shortly after uploading this post :-).

I've read in lots of places that people take there crafty kit away on holidays with them, I thought about this whilst packing my cases but I just couldn't decide on what to take. I am a 'what if' kind of person which would have resulted in a whole case packed full of crafty stash just in case I fancied doing this or that. Next time however I will spend some time beforehand preparing something to take as there was always and hour or two here and there that I thought 'oooh I could be making something now!'. I did manage to do a little bit of ad-hoc sewing as my niece broke her hat as soon as we arrived at the airport.

Next week is all about getting back into a rountine of work and business. I need to get busy preparing for the upcoming classes and put my crafty cap back on to muster up some fabulous projects for the lovely people that are joining me.

Trial Class Craftyness!

Yesterday evening was the start of the new venture that is GreedyGirlsGoods classes. I held a trial class with 8 lovely ladies at The Old Church Rooms in Radyr to test out some projects, gain some valuable feedback, support and of course test to see if the nerves held up!

We completed four project all together which included 2 cards, a tag and a gift box. The target time was 2 hours which I admit was a little ambitious.......we ran over by an hour! However one of the lovely ladies brought along a homemade cake which kept us going :-)

Everyone getting crafty, lovely to see I am not the only one that likes to get messy while they craft! Maybe now my husband will believe me that it is part of the creative process.

Some of the lovely projects on display, everyone did so well and I love how each of the ladies put there own creativness into every project. No carbon copies here.

Everyone took advantage of the great Stampin' Up! colour combinations and the double sided papers. Just look at those gorgeous pinwheels and stamps.

I you would like to join in and get creative, come and join in at one of the upcoming classes. Times and locations can be found under classes/events tab at the top of the page. You can contact me to book or for further information at sally@greedygirlsgoods.co.uk or on 07966016776.
